Not that long ago, I voiced my opinion on Facebook that Elton John is not very good but Bernie Taupin is a wonderful lyricist. (It’s still true and always will be.) A friend pointed out the lyrics of “Your Song” as a counter-example. And they were, of course, some of the very lyrics I was thinking of as a great example.
