Watching Speilberg's War Horse, it's easy to see why it made a good young adult book.  Seeing the puppets from the Broadway version, it's easy to see why it made a Tony-winning play.  What it doesn't really make, though, is a good movie.

Joey, a young horse, is raised by an oh-so-earnest farm boy only to be drafted into World War I when England declares…
