My year-end film Top 10 lists + awards

Every year, sometime before the Academy Awards broadcast, I award my Posties—the best in film from the past year, according to me. This year, I saw fifty-three Oscar-eligible films. (They are listed below.) These make up the official pool from which the Posties are put together.

The 2025 film slate was one of unusual bounty! Each year, I have about four or five movies that I give my top rating of five stars. In 2025, I gave out eight five-star ratings, with three more movies receiving four-and-a-half. That is an incredible year in film! Certainly, that means that my final rankings could change easily, but I have committed to my standard twelve Top Ten lists and eight special awards. Look for them in the next couple of days!
