Drive alternates long atmospheric shots of contemplative actors with moments of shocking, gory violence. The music and editing are great. Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, and Bryan Cranston are excellent. Albert Brooks, about whom much has been made this awards season, is not very good and hardly ever on screen.
